IBTS Colloquium 2023
If there was any doubt about the value of in-person gatherings, the 2023 Colloquium settled the question. Through the week over 80 people gathered from a wide variety of cultural situations for conversation, prayer, meals and lively engagement with academic work. There is of course a natural energy arising from such a gathering, but more than that we pray it was also a taste of the Spirit of Christ that is a testimony to the one body (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
New Cohort 2023
In January, we welcomed our new Cohort in person for the first time since 2020. While some live around 10,500 km apart from one another, they are now connected through our academic community. We look forward to following each of your academic journeys!

We can announce our latest course on Freedom of Religion or Belief - a partnership between the IBTS Learning Network and European Baptist Federation. This 12 week online course takes a human rights based approach to FoRB and will equip participants with the tools necessary to become trainers and advocates for FoRB in their context. If you are passionate about human rights then we would love to hear from you.

The Central and Eastern European Bible Commentary
We would like to extend our congratulations to Katharina and Peter Penner for their involvement in this new publications. The Central and Eastern European Bible Commentary results from a collaboration of 104 biblical scholars from the region who have produced a contemporary and contextually relevant interpretation of all 66 Bible books in one volume (1696 pages). It aims to help pastors, preachers, teachers and lay leaders to interpret and apply biblical truths in the rapidly-changing contexts of their lives and faith communities. Rooted in scholarship, while also written in clear and accessible language, this commentary enriches the global discussion on the Bible's message.
This will be launched at the CEEAMS conference in Prague, March 3-4, 2023.
