IBTS

Publications

JEBS is a peer reviewed journal published twice a year with the aim of serving the wider scholarly community, especially those working in the field of baptistic studies, either from the perspective of identity, history, practice or mission.

JEBS is committed to exploring the Baptist story in the European context, however, it is open to authors from all over the world.

The journal is published in open access in cooperation with the Index Theologicus and has its online home at jebs.eu. Back issues are available in open access in the Baptist Heritage Library. The journal is indexed in the Atla Religion Database® and also included in the full text AtlaSerials® and AtlaSerials PLUS® collections. Full text is also available in the EBSCO Religion & Philosophy Collection. Abstracts are available through Religious & Theological Abstracts.

Submit your article

Contributors are asked to submit their article and abstract by email attachment in Word or Rich Text format to jebs@ibts.eu. The articles should normally be no longer than 7000 words, including footnotes. Once the article has been accepted for publication, the author will be asked to submit a final version that incorporates any revisions from the peer review process and is in conformity with the journal’s publication requirements. It is the author’s responsibility that this is accurate, that all references are complete, corrections have been made, and that it is prepared according to the journal’s style. Please see JEBS Guidance for Authors for further details on this and the publication process. Unless stated otherwise in JEBS Conventions for Text and Footnotes, the publication follows MHRA style. The MHRA style guide is available online.

Submit a book review

JEBS welcomes book reviews which are no more than 500 words and focus on publications which conform with the general aim of the journal. JEBS expects the book reviews to discuss the book’s treatment of the topic rather than the topic itself. If you would like to consider submitting a book review, please, contact the book review editor: dorothy@ibts.eu. The general guidance for JEBS book reviewers can be found here.

Subscribe

Printed copies are available for subscribers. The annual subscription charge is 35 euros for personal subscriptions, 60 euros for institutional subscriptions. To subscribe to JEBS, or when looking to purchase back issues, please contact jebs@ibts.eu.
