An ordained Baptist chaplain, she was previously lecturer in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care at the International Christian College in Glasgow. Marion now serves as chaplain to Glasgow City Mission.

She is an Honorary Fellow of New College, Edinburgh and a member of the EBF Theological Education Commission. At Glasgow City Mission, she serves people affected by homelessness and addictions, and asylum seekers and refugees. Her academic work is interdiscplinary in nature, bringing together her passion for the care of vulnerable adults and practical Biblical hermeneutics. Her current research is on Biblical hermeneutics and mental health, and on the nature of discipleship.
